About Sailor’s Ruin

Sailor’s Ruin is the all-new home for the artwork of Lesa Welch — a celebration of life on and by the sea, launching online in November 2025.

Formerly known as Lesa Welch Art, the new name marks a fresh chapter: one that brings Lesa’s distinctive linocut artwork and clothing together under a single, sea-soaked banner. Sailor’s Ruin is more than a collection of prints and garments — it’s a brand built from salt, ink, and imagination.

Inspired by sea shanties, pirates and mermaids, wild rivers and stormy coasts, Lesa’s work captures the romance and grit of maritime life. Each design begins as a hand-carved linocut, a process rooted in craft and tradition. Many of these original prints find new life through screen printing on high-quality hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and accessories — wearable art for those who feel the pull of the tide.

Our gallery and outlet sit in the heart of Polperro, Cornwall — a small, beautiful fishing village whose rugged charm and history run through every piece we create. It’s here, surrounded by the sea and stories that inspire us, that Sailor’s Ruin continues to grow.
